SIN AND DEATH
It always amazes me when television shows like 20/20,
sixty minutes or Dr. Phil come on to confront people with their crimes or moral failures. For example, I was watching recently
when this middle aged man showed up at a 13 year old girls house because he wanted to have sex with her. So there he is in
her house waiting on her when the TV crew comes in. When asked why he was doing what he was doing he said, "Because I'm
a sick bastard, that's why."
This man knew that he was breaking God's law. He also knew that he was committing
a crime. He was arrested just outside her house and booked at the local jail. Why was he doing that when he knew it was wrong?
Jesus taught, "he who sins is a slave to it." In other words, we become captured by our sin. We are no longer free
to live a happy life in God, our sin has taken over. And, although, sin may seem fun for a while, eventually it catches up
to us and destroys our life. How many marriages have been broken apart by husbands and wives cheating on each other? How many
families have been torn apart by too much drinking or drug abuse? How many families have been broken up because mom or dad
committed some crime and had to go to jail? How many people are just so selfish and self centered that they don't even care
about those around them? This is all sin. Breaking any of the 10 Commandments that God gave us through Moses is sin. Sin causes
separation from God and therefore death. Many people know that they are sinners but they just don't care. They are not able
to enter into heaven upon physical death. They die a second death. A death of the soul. Jesus will not allow them to enter
into heaven because they have chosen to follow evil. But - and here is the Good News again - all those who tell Jesus that
they are truly sorry will be forgiven and allowed to enter into the kingdom of God. We all have sinned. No one is perfect.
We all need a savoir. Anyone [yes, even you and me] can be "born again" through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
God is just. Jesus paid the price for our sin. We only need to place our faith in him.
Won't you come to Jesus
today to escape sin and death? Wouldn't you like to exprience the wonderful things He has prepared for you. Life is short,
my friend, please ask Jesus into your heart today!
Would you like some good news??? Here it is: SOMEBODY LOVES YOU AND IS OFFERING YOU
ETERNAL LIFE !!! Let's face it... sometimes life is really difficult. There are a lot of problems in the world, many disasters
on our planet, and too many evils all around us. To make matters worse, our parents may not appreciate us or - the person
we married - may not have developed the way we were hoping. So, often times we can feel lost and all alone. "Nobody loves
me, boo hoo. " We can feel terrible for years. But wait... God did not create you to be lost and all alone. He
understands the brokeness of your heart and the emptiness of your soul. Wouldn't you like all that trouble inside you healed
in this lifetime with eternal happiness as well? That is what happened to me. I was rejected and broken as my "Home"
page tells. When I called out to Jesus the Holy Spirit actually entered into me and replaced that heartache with joy. When Jesus taught in Israel 2 thousand years ago he proclaimed the "good news."
He did not come to announce death, destruction, and judgement. Quite the opposite! He sent out his disciples -
as he does to this day - to proclaim GOOD NEWS! He told his disciples to preach healing, forgiveness of sin, and salvation.
What's wrong with that??? Absolutely nothing unless you love sin and death. The disciples announced the "good
news" Jesus asked them to proclaim. The work continues to this very day. As Jesus said, "To them
who have ears, let them hear." Won't you open your ears [and your heart] to Jesus today? The Good News is that healing and eternal life are available to all those who
want it. The only prerequisite is repentence from sin. Ask Jesus into your life and he can help you overcome whatever sin
is keeping you down. Millions of people have already done this. It is a wholeness that cannot be seen by careful looking;
you have to actually "take the plunge" to discover the wonderful things God has prepared for those who love Him.
That is not only the "Good News" but it is the best news this life has to offer. God's blessing for now with
everlasting happiness and eternal life to follow! Don't you have everything to gain by following Jesus?
